A sellout almost immediately as it was launched, this week’s Laugharne Weekend is every bit as cool and boho as we’ve come to expect, as well as a kind of indieish cultural history of the last few decades.
It features Joe Dunthorne, Rachael Tresize, Jon Ronson, Gwenno and Scritti Politti… plus lots of folk who write for the Guardian and Observer. The Kink, Ray Davies, is on the bill, as well as dimension traveller David Icke, Jasper Fforde and Stuart Maconie. Julien Temple, who made the Sex Pistols film is there too.
Quite unfairly and subjectively the image above is of our favourite writer appearing: Jake Arnott. We pick him for having such a bold, distinctive voice, doing his own thing and looking like a bad boy.
Laugharne will rock – we’ve no doubt – and the publicans will be smiling.
