cockerelThis has been a week revisiting some of my back catalogue online and re-covering them. Please don’t buy them yet as it’s taken me all week to work out the best way of using software to update the contents.

So that’s the next task…

One of these books was published in 2011 and hand-coded for Kindle, an act you should only consider if you share a similar fixation for parking exactly in the middle of lines in car parks – and are somewhat difficult for others to live with.

It made me think about how fast things have moved in online publishing since then, and how most people who do it and have any sort of success are really versions of battery hens, though rather than producing eggs, we’re producing serial editions. Read this extraordinary account of in Write.Publish.Repeat to appreciate how much productivity is needed to make a decent living.

But I also reviewed my Amazon sales this week too, and – guess what? All the peaks coincided with live events, workshops or talks, where people – and I love you all – had either been present or responded to twitter etc.

Which makes me think that we writers today have to vacillate between largely battery hen style productivity but with occasional breakouts, to strut our stuff like a gorgeous crowing cock.

Speaking of which, this week’s Friday Find – sorry – is the trailer for the Fifty Shades movie.

Cock-a-doodle-doo.
