Being rejected for a Literature Wales bursary, and feeling bitter and twisted about it due to not being excellent enough, I got thinking about pro and amateur writers, and how much subsidy helps those who are not so great at helping themselves…

And then I came across this news story about a cracking project in High Street, Swansea, Storyopolis, created by Tim Batcup, teaching storytelling to kids, in the the old Iceland building.

So I thought I’d look at the writers involved, and came across Helen Docherty’s site and her husband Thomas Docherty’s.

And I felt uplifted and galvanized that two such pro creatives seemed to be working on such a worthwhile project.

Onwards and – ahem – onwards.
