Writing Memoir and Up The Writers

Hello fellow writers, and here’s a new lesson for all you lovely Udemy students, uploaded to The Complete Freelance Writing Course, as Lecture 55, in Section 10. I made this in response to student queries, so thanks to those of you who suggested it, and I hope you enjoy. As ever, please do ask me anything further that occurs to you.

I’ll be dabbling into AI to make the transcript of this lesson, but in the meantime if you’re interested I came across this site this month: https://theresanaiforthat.com/. Warning: you could end up spending a lot of time here…

And on the subject of AI, you’ll no doubt have heard of the writers strike in the US. Caitlin Moran is a well known journalist in the UK and wrote a dazzling column last week in the Times, behind a paywall, about this. It reminded me of why writers exist and what value we offer society – ideas that it’s easy to forget about, when you’re struggling with the day-to-day challenges of writing words of worth. Maybe, like me, you want to pin this up on your noticeboard…and for now, good luck with the wordflow in flaming June.
