Ikigai for Writers and Namowrimo

Hello lovely writers, and if you got through Namowrimo, may it have been an excellent experience.

This month’s Complete Freelance Writing Course update is added at Lecture 7 of the course and it’s about the Japanese concept of Ikigai, a powerful notion of ‘reason to be’. There is such a sea of writing advice online, but I reckon this model defines most important aspects for aspiring professional writers.

I’ve attempted namowrimo once before, but found I baled out with the number of updates and noise around the process. This time I signed up with wondy kitten, to write every morning through November apart from weekends, between 8.15 and 8.45 a.m. Wendy gave us an inspirational quote to kick us off, and then off we went. It was a terrific experience, and I became most anchored by it, and her warm and generous hosting. Highly recommend, and her write-togethers are ongoing, UK times.

Look out in a future post for what I learnt from attempting to write a play…and please keep scribbling!
