Here’s a trailer for our online version of Write By The River, the walk and write workshop my podcast pal Emma and myself ran, a couple of weeks ago at Llangwmlitfest. If you’re a Complete Freelance Writing Course Student, then the full workshop is now online in Section 11, as Lecture 59, Helpful Practice Activity: Write By The River workshop.
Emma took our participants on the actual walk, while I ran a seated version of the workshop for participants with mobility issues, in a marquee. Then we got everyone together for a couple of inspiring readings, some final tweaks to the writing and then volunteers read some quite excellent excerpts.
We ran the workshop on a Sunday morning of a very hot weekend and our lovely writers said they very much appreciated quiet reflective activity after a couple of days of hot, crowded and bubbling-with-ideas marquee sessions. I’d like to thank Michael Pugh at Llangwmlitfest for inviting us, and Literature Wales for sponsoring this session.
It’s exciting to combine live and digital events like this, and please do let me know if you’d like more of the same. There’s just a hint of autumn cool in the air here at the moment, which I always love and find filled with a sense of creative potential – do hope you are feeling something similar, wherever you are!
